Citizen Program Committees are sub-councils within each city. The purpose of the Citizen Program Committee is to offer volunteer opportunities for the citizens in their community to help create a safer, stronger, better prepared community. These committees are designed to host a Citizen Corps sponsored program (such as: VIPS, Fire Corps, USAonWatch, and CERT). These Citizen Corps sponsored programs help create an opportunity in the community that helps enhance emergency preparedness and safety.
Starting a Citizen Program Committee in your area will help create the groundwork for the long-term security of our neighborhoods, our communities, and our nation.
Each Citizen Program Committee can be designed around the needs and interests within their community.
